Which companies will publish EPS on April 19-23?
Information is not investment advice
The earnings season is underway! Many well-known US companies will publish their financial results for the first quarter. Follow the releases and compare the forecasted earnings with the actual ones. The better-than-expected company’s results will drive the stock up, while the worse-than-expected – down! FBS traders can make both buy and sell trades while trading stocks –the rules are almost the same as for the currency pairs. In the article "How to trade on earnings reports?", you'll find more tips!
Coca-Cola and IBM
Reporting: April 19, 15:30 and 24:00 MT (GMT+3)
Coca-Cola hasn’t recovered from the virus hit yet. From the current level it trades at, it has more than 10% of potential value growth to surpass its last all-time high of $60. IBM is a technology company, which is expected to deliver a decline in earnings. The element of surprise matters! If actual numbers top forecasts, the stock will rocket! If not – drop.
Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) and Procter & Gamble (PG) April 20
Reporting: April 20, 15:30 MT (GMT+3)
JNJ is having a tough time. The FDA called to pause the usage of J&J’s vaccine, also factory workers ruined 15 million doses, which will slow down the supply. Maybe at least earnings will be good? PG, a consumer goods corporation, famous for brands like Tide, Fairy, and Gillette, has recently raised its dividend by 10%. It’s a sign that the company prospers.
Netflix
Reporting: April 21, 01:00 MT (GMT+3)
Netflix’s subscribers sharply rose last year as people were forced to sit at home. Will the streaming giant be able to prove its sustainability after the restrictions were eased?
Intel, AT&T
Reporting: April 22, 15:30, 24:00 MT (GMT+3)
AT&T is the US telecom conglomerate, which owns Warner Bros. and HBO. Over the past 5 years, the stock has declined more than 20%, so it is weak. Let’s see what earnings bring! Intel, the chip giant, is expected to deliver a year-over-year decline of 20.00%. If the actual results exceed expectations, Intel may surge. Otherwise – fall.
American Express (AXP)
Reporting: April 23, 15:30 MT (GMT+3)
AXP is the third-largest credit card company after MasterCard and Visa. The pandemic has cemented a habit to use credit cards instead of cash. Will it help earnings to grow?
